2. After that Christoph Leiter will give us insights into a real-life structural domain model in the hotel business – implemented with around 150 relational tables and *without* applying anything like aggregates. He will discuss with us which practical problems did arise over time with that domain model. We will see and identify some examples of how aggregates could have been applied in that model and discuss what could have been improved by doing that.
I hope to learn! Whether and to which extent the problems with the original model could have been avoided? Which new problems would have been created? As we all know: there are relatively few silver bullets out there!-)
3. If we have time left, we could discuss the surrounding: whether aggregates matter even more in 2017, e.g. in the light of … alternative (non-relational) data stores, modeling and publishing domain events, event sourced persistence backends, the reality of distributed systems in general.
